5 Skin Care Tips for Oily Skin

Bringing out the Beauty in You:

When your skin is oily, you feel dirty and greasy all the time, like you could cook on what is dripping off your face. But you don’t have to suffer with oily skin for the rest of your life. There are many skin care products, as well as home remedies that can help you control and avoid oily skin.

For more information, there is help at Circcell. And below is 5 skin care tips for oily skin:

  1. Wash Your Face Twice a Day

When you suffer from oily skin, you will need to wash your face both in the morning and before you go to bed. This will help control the oil.

Do not use a harsh soap as it will dry out your skin and could possibly trigger more production of oil. A mild or sensitive skin soap will get the dirt and surface toxins off your skin just as well as a harsher soap.

  1. Never Go to Bed With Makeup On

Everyone knows this rule, but there are times when you may be too tired to remove your makeup before jumping into bed. It is important to help control your oily skin to remove any and all makeup before sleeping. When you leave your makeup on during the night, it can fall deeper into your pores and cause clogs and add to the oil.

If you don’t have the energy to wash your face with your regular cleansing soap, purchase and keep on hand some gentle makeup remover wipes. This will allow you to get the majority of the makeup and dirt off your face before bed.

  1. Invest in Blotting Papers

You can use blotting papers throughout the day to help soak up excess oils on your face. These papers will remove oil, but no your makeup. You will look and feel fresher and your makeup will stay looking fresh.

Do not rub the papers on your face, but rather press them on your oily skin and leave it there for a few seconds before removing it. Rubbing the papers will simply spread the oil around and not remove it.

  1. Do Not Touch Your Face

This may be the hardest rule to follow, but when you touch your face, you transfer dirt and dead skin cells onto your face. This causes your pores to become clogged and adds to the production of oil on your face.

If you have an itch, do it gently. Try to wash your hands before touching your face as it will help minimize the transfer of dirt. Or use a tissue when you need to touch your face. This will create a barrier between your finger and your face.

  1. Use Oil-Free Makeup

When you are choosing makeup, be sure to purchase one that is oil-free. You do not want to add to your oily skin with a makeup that is overly moisturizing and clogs your pores more.

Always wear sunscreen and wash your face, and you will find your face will be less oily over time. You will also see that there will be less signs of aging when you take care of your skin.
